Website Hosting Policies
I offer website and email hosting packages using reliable internet servers that offer many different plans for all your needs including shopping carts, databases, add ons and more.
If your account is not paid in full and your website hosting is due I will not renew your hosting package or email accounts unless you have paid your balance in full for your website hosting in advance of the due date. If you do not pay in advance and your domain name is not renewed and there is a good chance someone could purchase your domain name.
Registering Your Domain Name
I recommend that I set up your domain name and website hosting package if I am also designing your website. This makes everything easier for all involved. This also ensures I remind you 1 month in advance when your website hosting and domain name come due so you don’t accidentally let it to expire and have someone else register and gain control of your domain name. This also ensures if there are any issues with the website, domain name, email accounts or hosting that you only have to deal with one company.
It’s also a good idea to register a few variations of your domain name either with different extensions such as .net, .co, .biz, .org, .ca, .us etc. or a slight variation of your company name.
Marketing Your Website & Monitoring Your Web Statistics
How will people find out about your website? It’s not good enough to build a site and hope someone will come. You need to to draw visitors to your site on a regular basis. If you don’t promote your website no-one will see it. I offer a number of different ways of advertising and promoting your website using social media sites and more.
Ideally you should have an analytics & statistics report set up so you can find out where your traffic is coming from, keywords, search engines and other sites driving traffic to your site. I offer weekly, monthly, one-time and specialty emailed reports.
Logos and image formats
They would be best sent as vector format (.eps, .ai, .pdf, .svg) so we can resize them as necessary. The next best would be a high .dpi .jpg, .gif or .tiff. It is the clients responsibility all images I receive for use do not infringe any copyright laws. Please do not take images off the web without checking with the owner of the images first. This is illegal and unethical. If you need images we can provide stock images for you for an extra fee. You must have written permission to use any images that appear on your website if they are not provided by Stephanie Kriza.
